If you haven't read about which cars the other magazines are betting hoping will emerge as Castrol SYNTEC's Top Car, do that now. We'll wait, they'll probably need hours to convince you their plans will work, and we only need a few minutes.

Ready? Good. Because Minneapolis, MN's Ryan Gates and his 2008 EVO X is setting the curve in this competition, with all the bases covered. Drag racing? How about a 2,100-pound race machine putting down 500 AMS-inspired horses to four R-compound-clad racing wheels? Road racing and time attack?
